STEADI Course
Stage Technician Education and Development Intensive (STEADI) course

The STEADI Story
The STEADI course is the actualization of Ed Wannebo and Sue Ullrich's shared vision for training which will help the "new guy/gal" engage in a career in live event production. We value:
-
a positive attitude
-
passion
-
motivation to learn
-
education that is relevant
-
training that enhances one's confidence
-
learning experiences that lead to employment
Sue and Ed convened a committee of industry experts and asked them "what do you think a new guy needs to know in order to be a safely functioning member of a production team". In answering that question, the STEADI course was born.
Upon completion of the STEADI program you will have knowledge and skills to help you to:
-
have a basic understanding of how the business works and its culture,
-
be fluent in the language of the industry (both proper and slang),
-
prepare you to work with entertainment electricity,
-
provide support to the head rigger and to work in the rigging environment safely,
-
demonstrate stage etiquette
-
work around forklifts, trucks, docks and ramps.
...and much, much more
Most importantly, you will learn how NOT to be "that guy".
Both Ed and Sue are activley involved in every aspect of the delivery of the STEADI course to ensure program quality and relevance.

Technology Moves On
Make Sure You Keep Up
Technology moves fast these days, and if you're not keeping up you're being left behind. The best way to keep up with technology is to build a solid foundation of understanding the fundamentals and then applying them with real life experience in the field. The STEADI course will provide you with the foundational training you need—from unloading the trucks, to rigging the gear, powering it up, testing it, fixing it, and loading it back in the trucks—to build a successful career in live event production.

Safety is Serious Business
The show must go on, but it must go on safely. Our instructors will use their years of experience on the road to teach you the safe and proper way to make sure the show goes on. In an industry where tons of equipment is rigged over people's heads, often outside in the elements, it's crucial to understand the risks and how to mitigate them. We're all about safety and you should be too. If you want to stand out in the field of live event production, you can distinguish yourself as an expert who always looks out for the crew, the audience, and yourself.
