Frequently Asked Questions
Finding your way in live event production can be challenging. You have many questions, not all of which can be answered here and now. But then again, here are the most frequently asked questions.
01
Who is Tour School LLC?
Tour School was started by Sue Ullrich and Ed Wannebo to help train the "new guy/gal" looking for a career in live event production. Many production companies need well-trained individuals who know how to do their job safely and effectively. The STEADI program is a 4-day course designed to bridge the gap between the classroom and the road.
02
What can the STEADI program teach me?
The STEADI program is designed to expose you to the tricks of the trade while reinforcing the foundation of learning that is required to truly understand what goes into a production, including safety and best practices. We'll teach you why things work the way they do and then we'll let you work things out for yourself under the supervision of experienced professionals in the industry.
03
Can this program help me get a job in the industry?
Many production companies are looking for skilled, trained entry-level employees. The STEADI program is designed to give you those skills most valued by live event production companies. It concludes with a job fair where local companies can interview attendees and talk with the instructors about the standouts in the class.
04
Where are courses taught?
Tour School courses will be taught at various places around the United States, including the most active production centers such as Nashville, Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, and other locations. They are held in facilities which can accommodate the classroom and hands-on training using the same gear that you would see in a large concert setting.
05
Are the class sizes limited?
Yes, class sizes are limited to no more than 12 people so that the instruction is more personal and each attendee can practice the hands-on skills.
